Ingenieur half link and case refinish .... possible and payable ?

If I'd want a 322701 case to be refinished with respect for what IWC designed, so all surfaces would become as they were the factory, is that even possible ?

How about marks ? If deep, can they be fixed or does it mean that you have to eat away at the case and would loose the original lines ?

And finally, anyone has an idea of the price of a half link for the bracelet ?

Opinions and advice very much appreciated.

    All the best,
    Henrik

Depending on the extent of the damage, it shouldn't be difficult. Can you get some photos?
If the dings are really deep, you can polish it up and make it harder to see, but you'll probably have to send it in for a new case or bezel if it's really deep and you want it like new.
If the damage isn't very bad, you can do it yourself in a day.
    Is the crystal scratched?

No idea what a half link would cost, but I would suspect it's a lot more than it's worth.

If it makes the difference between a watch that fits loosely and rattles on your wrist, and one that fits, I think the couple hundred dollars would be money well spent.

The case can be restored to "as new" condition, however, I think the watch would have to be returned to Schaffhausen for service. IWC use a laser fill/weld technique to repair deep scores and dings in the case. This procedure is not available at all IWC service centres. I've added a link to IWC webpage which describes the process under the Scope of Service heading:

IWC Schaffhausen | Fine Timepieces From Switzerland | Service And Support

Sorry, I don't know the cost of refurbishing the case but it won't be cheap!! I suggest you speak to your local AD or service centre for more details.

I don't know if they are comparable but I recently got a new half link for a new style aquatimer and paid about £40. I would have thought an Ingy one would be about the same. Ring your AD and see what they say.
