IWC Mark XVI running fast after sports

I have been enjoying an IWC Mark XVI for one and a half year.
It consistently runs slow 1 second a day.
I avoid wearing it during sports, although I wore it while skiing without problems.

Today I participated in soccer while attending a family party.

Later I discovered my watch is running fast 15 minutes an hour !

I must admit I also acted as a goalie, including stopping hard kicks with my hands. Maybe these impacts caused the dysfunction?

What do you guys think happened ? And I suppose I need to go back to the AD to have it fixed?

I would let the watch run for a few days to see if it works itself out. If it doesn't, consider letting it run until it stops. After that, hand wind it and let it run for a few more days. If it's still having problems, you're going to need have it looked at. A local watchmaker could probably take care of it, assuming there's nothing seriously wrong. If not, then it might need to be sent to a service center for repair.

Next time, consider playing the midfield!

If opened by a local watchmaker and it's still under warranty, warranty is voided.

I don't know any local watchmaker so I will have the repair done by the AD where I bought it.
Now I 'm going to let it run until it stops.

Ask if they are authorized to do so.

They have a guy that repairs watches and they are AD for IWC, Jaeger-lecoultre, Chopard...
I think this guy can handle a Mark XVI.

Is your watch under factory warranty?

    I think there's a 2 year warranty.
However, I doubt this includes a dysfunction caused by sports.

Well, it is a "sports watch". It's worth asking them if they will cover it - they might as a goodwill gesture.
