Is this an IWC quarts movement? Please help

I was was gifted this watch about 5 years ago, I was always sure it was a cheap imitation. I had a new battery fitted a few days ago at Timpson and said to the guy it wasn't authentic. On my return he said he was sure it was... any help would be really appreciated... many thanks

Who "gifted" it to you? It does look like a "rank knockoff".

Definitely a knockoff, the thing's not even made of stainless steel.

thanks for the replies. I suspected it was a cheap fake and the Timpson guy was wrong.

I really know know nothing about watch movements other than they can be battery, mechanical or a mixture of both. I've ne er heard of a Gallons movement. I suspect that is a rip off or something that is good quality?

Not only wrong, he was an utter pillock to ever have thought for even as much as a second, that this watch ever rolled out of the IWC factory. If he said that he was "sure it was authentic", then... Well, loss of words.

The battery is Swiss Made. So that's a plus.

He was joking about the "gallons" movement. You said "quarts" instead of quartz. Quartz is a type of watch movement. Quarts is a unit of measure, 4 quarts is a gallon. He was just teasing.

And as others have said, there are many indicators that the watch is not a genuine IWC. I would hesitate to let that jeweler do anything aside from changing the battery on a cheap quartz watch.
