Tried on the Big Pilot (5004) today at my local AD

They did not have the 5009 in stock but they did have the 5004 and seemed ready to deal. The difference between the two watches was about $1100 and I was really not sure what to do but something tells me to wait and get the 5009 when it arrives and I thin the 48mm would look much better on my larger wrist. I told them I would not pull the trigger for a 5% off savings and they told me he thinks they can do much better than that? I am going to give myself 10-days and really think about the pluses and mists and before I pull the trigger especially since there are a few ohther watches in the running.

The others I am looking at are the Patek Philippe Nautilus, Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox Deep Sea Alarm, IWC Portuguese Automatic, Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Contemporaine, Blancpain Leman Grande Date Automatic, and the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Grande Ultra Thin.

There is no size difference between the 5004 and the 5009.. I believe the only difference is the deployment and the winding mechanism to deal with over torque due to the crown..

Other than that... How did you like it? :)

It was love at first sight! He showed me that the 5004 was a 46.2mm and the 5009 was going to be a 48mm? I do not remember reading this anywhere.. God it looked good on my wrist!

Yeah he must have confused it with some of the other pilots from the new lineup.. It is a damn sexy watch :)
