By comparison, I don't think it is fair to compare the Oris or Omega with the the Hamilton. However, when comparing it with the Victorinox, the Hamilton can not compete. Almost every aspect of the VSA out performs the Hamilton; Fit, finish and over-all looks. I am not disappointed with the purchase of the Hamilton (you get what you pay for). However, I am very impressed with the Victorinox.

So, anyone who is considering an entry-level luxury watch, perhaps you should consider something other than a Hamilton and give other brands a look.

Thanks for your impressions but I find the comparison to be rather unfair, Hamilton's Khaki line aren't meant to be dress watches. They're meant to be kinda an in between of a tool watch and a casual wearer.
May I recommend to try looking at a Hamilton Jazzmaster for a true fair comparison from Hamilton.

I always liked that specific Victorinox. Love the hands and the color.

Unfortunately, to me, it's too big for my small wrist.

Victorinox looks cool, but the Hamilton is a fine watch too, and... it's a Hamilton! Oh, I've always wanted a hamilton and one day I will surely buy one... Not soon anyway, but... cool watches, definitely :)

I would tend to agree that the comparison is a little unfair. The Victorinox is certainly a fine watch, but I would argue that the Hamilton's finish is equal to that of the Vic. A more balanced comparison would be the Oris Big Crown Small Second Pointer Day, which looks a little closer to the Hamilton, as far as over-sized military-style watches go.

A great watch, but the retail is just over double what you pay for the Hamilton. As for the overall finish of the case, I can't fault it. I bought the hand-wound version of the same watch and reviewed it here on WUS and I couldn't find much wrong with this watch. My only gripe would be that I wish the hands were larger, but otherwise, it's a lot of watch for the money.

I'm sorry that the Hamilton didn't blow your socks off. But for the price, it's pretty good value.
    Just my humble op.
Either way, you have a nice and concise collection of varied watches. Enjoy them all.

Vitorinox can compete at very high levels, take the Dive Master watch, it is up there with watches costing double the asking price.

I dont know why did this post is here? Like posting in a BMW forum to buy Mercedes. The dive master didin't impressed me,ugly movement, okish case and etc but not hugely great.
    But that victorinox looks nice.

That Officer was weared by Ryan Reynolds.

It can be a little tricky comparing models of different price points and make but at the end of the day you're comparing one watch against another and sharing your opinion. It's one of the things I love about WUS.

How about some real life pics and not the stock photos!
