    A Hammy for every occasion

One of the best things about Hamilton (among many) is that they truly make watches for every occasion. Well at least every occasion that is important to me.

The 38mm dress watch, The 42mm aviator watch, and The 44mm field watch.

I like all of them to death but if i had to pick a favorite it has to be the Team Earth.

Here's it is with a custom 1942 Swiss Ammo Strap. A crazy year to say the least.

agreed! and quality pieces at that. I have the Team Earth (like yours) and the Field (on leather). Regarding your Team Earth, where did you get that strap? It rocks! Is this a BJ Strap? Mine is still on the original brown leather but I have never been crazy about it. Plus the 21mm lug width makes after market choices slim.

BTW... all great pieces you have here.

Hello Robert! It's a custom strap that i had made to my specs. I kept the stitching to a minimum and if you notice i only had 3 holes put in. I could have gotten away with 2 but I'm fine with how it turned out.

A funny thing happened when i switched out to this dark brown strap. This watch initially came on the SS bracelet then i switched to the tan strap featured above. All the while the dial appeared black with beige numbers and hands. When i switched to the dark brown ammo strap the dial appeared to be dark brown. Its very strange. I thought my eyes were just messing with me but the longer i keep it on this strap the more obvious it becomes. A very welcome surprise indeed.

You have, by far, the most versatile and logical Hamilton collection I've ever seen. You really couldn't ask for more out of that collection. I see people with 8+ watches in their collection and there is just too much redundancy (and lots of dollars spent). You have chosen three watches that take care of any occasion. Well done!
Also, that custom strap has to be the best example of a custom strap. It suits the Team Earth perfectly.

What model is that 38mm dress watch - is it a Viewmatic?

    Current:
    Omega "SkyFall" AT8500,
G-Shock GW-M5610, Citizen Blue Angels Skyhawk A-T Limited Edition (416 of 1000), Citizen Calibre 2100
    Past:
Omega Railmaster 2503.52, Omega PO 2201.50, Tag Heuer Carrera Heritage, Omega Speedmaster Professional (3870.50), Omega Seamaster 300M Chronograph (2225.80), Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean (2901.51.82), Citizen Chrono A-T Limited Edition (799 of 2500), Hamilton King Scuba Auto, Hamilton Khaki Pilot (46mm)

Hamilton has become one of my favorite brands :)!

    40mm diver, 38mm dress and 40mm field-ish.

I think I'd be satisfied with just the Thinomatic and Frogman. I don't use bezels much, the Frogman has plenty of WR, and the Chinese Forum project is also a twin crown compressor style watch. Decisions decision

Is that an aftermarket oyster-style bracelet on the Thinomatic? If so, where'd you grab that? Looks really nice on there.

Yeah it was added on by the previous owner. You can probably ask him where he got it : bluloo.
I am curious too because it's a nice bracelet, and I have been looking for a new one for my Sandoz.

Thank you for the kind words. I really made a conscious effort to make my hammy collection as versatile as possible. Initially i was going to get 4 versions of the 44mm Field Auto, the standard SS black dial, the SS silver dial, rubber strap white dial, and the rubber strap PVD case with black dial. Then i quickly realized the redundancy that you mentioned. I decided to go a different route and have not been disappointed so far. My fourth hamilton will be a tonneau.

As for the 38mm dress watch its a Thin o'matic. I opted to get the 38mm instead of the 42mm version just to stay true to the whole dress watch feel. Plus i felt that the date placement of the 38mm is WAY better than the 42mm version. Its a subtle difference but it makes a big difference to me. I plan to switch out the SS with a black leather strap to give it that throwback dress watch. My favorite part of the watch is the original logo on the dial. Very cool.

Now all you need is a Hammy with a white or silver colored dial.

Just to keep the ball rolling a little, here is my vintage 1960's Hamilton thin o'matic. Its only a 34mm but it is by far my favorite among all my hammies. A 34mm watch these days is tiny but as you can see it doesn't look too bad on my wrist. I believe it also has something to do with the fact that its pretty darn thin. The thing that amazes me the most is that even after all these years it keeps pretty good time. I only gain about a minute every week.
