    Modern Thin-o-matic owers out there?

I am looking for some wrist shots/feedback on the modern Hamilton Thin-o-matic line. I was looking at the 42mm model. I could only find one thread on this when I did a search here. Anybody have one and if so how are you finding it? Thanks in advance.

I would also love to see some wrist shots and read some owners impressions about the 42 mm model, specially with the black dial. I've seen the white dial in person and the clarity and simplicity of the dial are just amazing, but unfortunately the piece was on the horrid stretch bracelet (awful idea) and I couldn't take it seriously. Since then, I've been hoping to run into other versions of the watch but my local dealer is useless so let's hope someone comes to our rescue...

Re: Modern Thin-o-matic owers out there?

I bought a new 38mm Thin-o-Matic a few days ago, and I couldn't be happier with it. It's a really striking watch, much better looking in person than in photos. (That said, I'll try to post some photos of mine tomorrow.) The white dial has a subtle brushed-steel appearance that looks great at different angles, and the dial's markings and numerals are super sharp. A very clean, elegant look. I dig the brown leather strap as well; it just looks right with the watch. I also like that the watch is dressy but not too dressy. I've worn it with a dress shirt, a polo shirt, and a T-shirt, and I think it works great with all of them.

It seems to be keeping perfect time. I haven't actually tested it precisely to the second, but it matches up minute by minute with my cell phone.

The understated lume is a nice unexpected feature. Only the hour and minute hands glow, which makes for a very cool effect in the dark.

I would have preferred an exhibition caseback, because I'm kind of nerd and this is my first automatic watch, but the lack of one is no big deal. Actually, I think the solid back is more in keeping with the overall look of the watch, and the engraved Hamilton crest is a nice touch.

I haven't seen any of the other Thin-o-Matics in person, but I do like the look of the black one in photos. Sorry -- I know that's not very helpful.

I'll try to post a wrist shot or two tomorrow.

Man that looks sharp. Thanks so much for your thoughts. The lack of exhibition back put me off too and I was considering a jazzmaster slim but I think this is a better looking watch.

Thanks for the compliments. I also tried on a Jazzmaster Slim -- I liked the thin profile and the overall look (and the exhibition back), but I couldn't get over not having a seconds hand. There's a Slim with a small seconds hand, but I only see it available in 43mm, which is too big for my small wrists.

I really like the Viewmatic, which of course has an exhibition back and kind of looks like a more decorated Thin-o-Matic.

And the new Intra-Matic looks awesome (no seconds hand, but it's incredibly cool looking). Anybody know when it will be available or if it already is?

(I think I'm in trouble -- I just got my first really nice watch and I'm already looking for the next one.)

If that's really a 38mm then you have a very small wrist.

That's really a 38mm, and I really have a very small wrist. I think these close-up wrist shots tend to make watches look bigger than they actually are. That said, my wrists are pretty tiny.

Re: Modern Thin-o-matic owers out there?

    Hello!

Can someone tell me how to access the new Hamilton Thin-o-Matic movement? Is it possible to open the caseback or the way to go is by removing the Crystal? Thanks.
