    Ventura question

    Hello all,

First post on the Hamilton side of the fence here. I usually hang out on the Omega or Vintage/Pocket Watch forums...

I had two questions regarding the newer Ventura models. If the questions were covered before, I will apologize. I have a steel men's model that I got around 8 years ago. It has a black leather band. I see new ones with stainless steel expansion bands.. Question 1.. how well is that look going over? I saw an actor in the movie "Predators" wearing one with a metal band and thought it looked like a mistake until I saw them online.

Second question regarding size. Mine almost spans the width of my wrist. I see the sizes all over the place. I wanted to suggest one to buy for a friend, but it seems difficult to know what is a men's size and what is unisex. I even saw one described as "Gents Ladies Watch" lol I see some that just say "31mm in diameter", and others that say "38mm x 33mm". I measured mine and it looks to be around 50mm long and 33mm wide. Question 2, which model numbers are mens watches?

Well, I guess I can't leave without showing a couple of my favorites...

    Re: Ventura question

Hmm, no responses. Well maybe I can answer one of my own questions. I went to Tourneau and asked how the Ventura with the new expansion band was selling and got a "not so good" response. The salesperson said the reason was that the band is one of those vintage style scissor link type that is next to impossible to size. Guess they didn't think of that when they decided to sell it that way.

    Re: Ventura question

I think this may be the kind of metal band you are referring to -- it's the Elvis Anniversary edition of the Ventura. The band is very comfortable, and I'd be very surprised to learn that there is a whole lot of re-sizing needed. This one was fine right off the bat...
