Help me decide - Fleiger chrono or fleiger auto no logo no date

    Hi,

I m torn between this two watches and kindly ask for your opinions...

Some background, I m 30 years old with a 7inch wrist (18cm), it would be my daily beater and first watch purchase (always loved watches but couldn t afford the one I liked...)

realistically speaking I have no use for the chrono function so it s just about the style of the watch and appreciation of the object...

I have decided that if I get one of those it will be with a non onion crown and will wear it on a regular strap with a stowa deployant. the fleiger auto no logo no date would be with the higher quality movement finish (ETA 2824 top)

I am a bit concerned by the fleiger chrono thickness (14.7mm vs 10.2mm for the automatic), from a general comfort point of view and because I have to wear a dress shirt at least once a week, I also do not like the feel of the watch remaining in one spot all day long and tend to wear watches strap rather loosely so the valjoux rattle could come into play

I can afford either of them but the fact that the chronograph comes at twice the price of the auto is a consideration (roughly 900 vs 1700€ all inclusive)

So to conclude the chrono is more uncommon and distinctive while the auto is a more reasonable and practical option... and I can t decide which one to order, so what do you say?

I can't get along with the chrono's single subdial (and don't care for the thickness) so I have to go with the flieger.

Have the Flieger no logo no date and am seriously considering the Chrono. Love the look and think I would enjoy the larger size a little bit more.

The Flieger no logo no date, for sure! ... but I'm not impartial because I'm waiting on mine. I receive it in one month :)

And in my opinion, it is nearest of the original Flieger. The Chrono has a good look but lose the historical tribute.

Great choice. I just purchased my first automatic watch from Archimede it is the pilot model. About 2 weeks after I bought it I discovered Stowa and have to say it has given me some second thought. I love my Archimede but Stowa quality is unmatched. Please post some pics when you receive it....I also like the standard crown choice as well.

You can't go wrong with either, but I'm a bit biased towards the FC. Great wrist presence (I have a 7" wrist) and in my opinion the onion crown next to the chrono pushers, along with the clean lines of the dial and hands, makes the watch. Dress it down with a leather or flieger strap, or dress it up with a Stowa croc. I don't miss the moving second hand one bit, and the minute sub dial comes in very handy when tending to steaks on the grill !!
