Recently I've purchased a Hamilton Brooke XL.
The dial is in a very interesting shape - a H shape in fact. Basically with a simplified "3,9,12" numberings, made the entire watch looks clean & classy. The elongated shape make the dial looks rather big. looking from the side, the watch somehow reminds me of a Jorg Hyseuk.
The stainless steel bracelet is very thick & solid. No sharp edges and feel smooth through out. Standard is above those bracelets found on a Tag Heuers or Tissot.
The watch comes with a sapphire crystal glass and a mineral glass see through back.
The only setback so far is the lum. There is no illumination on the numberings and those on minute/ second hands are weak. Nevertheless for a dress watch rather than a sport/ diver watch, I can understand legibility is not the main concern.
Given the relatively high suggested retail price for this watch and the unusual styling, I would say this is not a watch for the masses, but those who own it will appreciate it's exceptional quality.
Hamilton watches have come a long way and if the company is able to capitalise on it's rich history and with a good marketing plan, I'm sure this watch will make a good collection.
Thank you.
