When did Laco introduce ETA-powered manual winding fliegers in 36mm size? I feel like I keep with the Laco forum here on WUS pretty well, but this was news to me.

....i think it was just last week.
Yes, it was very recently. Sorry, I should have posted something here to that effect, but unfortunately I've been a little out of sync lately. I'm assuming there was a demand for a 36 mm B-Uhr; I'll be interested to read if anyone here was waiting for this size to come out. I know that some will complain that there isn't a 47 mm available, but Laco does offer an incredible size range in its B-Uhr collection with 36, 42, 45, and 55 mm models.
I got the info because I subscribed to Laco. You'll hear about new information when they have one.
Yes, I have been a subscriber to Laco's newsletter for over a year but have never received a thing...![]()
A 36mm B-Uhr seems like a novelty, I'd have to see one in the flesh. I agree that a 47mm case would be a very welcome addition to the lineup.
Yes, it's novel, because it's new!You could argue that any flieger that wasn't 55mm was a novelty, in that it strays from the original dimensions. Historical accuracy is always a relative term here.
There are plenty of us who prefer smaller watches, AND who prefer handcrankers. If I was buying a flieger next, this could be worthy of consideration. A 47mm case would definitely NOT get shortlisted by me.
Good points, all very true. I do prefer big watches, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy smaller ones too. I do have a few vintage 32 mm models in my regular rotation and I could certainly see myself wearing a 36 mm Laco; however, it would probably be a model from the Marine collection as I already have a number of their B-Uhr watches. I'm sure there will be buyers for a the new 36 mm and as is always the case in life, it's better to have that choice than to have none at all.
It's novel in the sense that it's a great deal smaller, 19mm. If you shrink a sports car, at what point is it no longer roadworthy? How well could Babe Ruth bat with his Louisville Slugger keychain?
Just one man's opinion.
