LACO Navy, ETA: What are the chances of an "after Christmas" sale?

    Hello all,

I've finally decided on the German watch that I want to buy...I think? I'm leaning towards the Laco Navy 42 with ETA movement, but I'm hoping for a better price than I'm finding on the Laco site or elsewhere.

Have any of you folks known Laco to have "sales" on their offerings in the past? The Laco w/Miyota movement has a much better price, but I can't get past the Japanese ticker. I know my preferences aren't practical, but I want a Nordic timepiece.

I think I've looked at at least 15 different German watch brands before deciding on the Laco. I want a reliable watch with a history. I'm open to suggestions as to other brands (sub $600) or deals on the Laco that I should be aware of. Thanks.

    Zero?
Laco sell well, so I would be surprised if we see any rebates.

    Janne,

Thanks for your reply. I thought it didn't hurt to ask the forum.

Never hurts asking! You might see a sale on models that are being discontinued.
    Good luck!!

Well, you have made a fantastic choice; however, as Janne suggested, I don't recall Laco ever holding a sale per se. You could always keep an eye open for a good used example, but you might be waiting quite a while as I also haven't seen that particular model come up for sale very often.

Then again, if staying under $600 is under your goal, the Marine (Navy) 42 is in that range. It's 412 EUR (roughly $537 USD) plus 40 EUR ($52 USD) shipping for a total of 452 EUR or $589 USD.

Thanks for the vote of confidence on my Laco choice. You guys have given me the courage to quit hovering my finger over that mouse button and just do it! :^)

A few guys here have purchased that specific model - I'm sure you've seen their photos here, right? - anyway, it's a particularly nice watch and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. It I didn't own another in the Marine collection, I'd be all over the 42. Be sure to let us know what you think of it when it arrives.

I have just recieved a Laco Navy 42mm Miyota, what an inspirational design, simple, utilitarian and sharp. I actually like the Miyota 821A movement, though I understand the penchant for a 'fully Nordic Watch', also I preferred the price on the Miyota version. Also it appeared to me that you could only get the luminous face in the Miyota 821A, my mistake. But a great timepiece none the less.
