    Laco Paderborn 42mm Springtime Special

Just received the watch today, supposed to be yesterday but missed the delivery guy. Diana from Laco is very helpful. I only took a few pictures of it because I have to go. Will continue after I get back.

The box is really big. Now let's see the watch itself and the box.

More pictures of my new Paderborn...

The first thing I noticed from the Laco is the dial. I previously owned a Laco Miyota type B and I feel somehow that the Paderborn is better, this may be becuse of the arrow on the 12 o'clock and the dot for each number in the inner circle. The next thing is the lume, based on my observation it's a tad better than the Miyota. The shape of the case itself is different, especially the lugs. I prefer this one and it's comfortable to wear, I don't have any complaints regarding it.

Afterwards, when I adjusted the time, the shape of the diamond crown really helps. I find it way more easier and convenient using the crown. Moreover the ETA comes with a hack system which I prefer than a non-hack system. The engraving on the left-side and on the case back is another plus. I think it's cool.

The other thing that I really like is the vintage strap. Although, it's still very stiff though. I also enjoy the color of the case, however I do think (my personal opinion) that the finish of the case is too flat. I can't seems to find the right word for it. If only they make it with this color but with a polish like the Miyota, it would be perfect. But nonetheless, I am really satisfied with my Paderborn. Thanks to Uwe for the suggestions through PM.

    Good review.
I have the same gripe about the finish of the case. It just doesn´t have the right "feel" to it. It has a coating that looks like a grey coat of paint, instead of natural steel.
    Congrats on your new watch.

Not to pound my drum too repetitively – but I'm reading "Too flat", "not the right feel", "[un]natural steel"... That is because you are buying an historical reproduction. If you want a case finish without the historical attributes there are plenty of other pilot-type watches out there, both Laco and non-Laco.

Thanks...hey, even if the springtime special has ended, you can still buy the watch and order a custom made vintage leather strap on your own. It's a nice watch.

But that's 269 € more than five days ago. I'm too cheap to do that :D

By the way, does the movement have hacking feature?
