    New Laco 45mm question

Both the 42mm and 45mm uses the same movt.
But since the 45mm needs longer sec hand i presume, is the movt capable of moving the extra length and weight?

I know previously that the MIH had similar problem and had to use diff spec sec hands.

Don't worry, the ETA movements are proven work horses. You will find them even in 55mm cases doing their job.

MIH? Care to elaborate a little?

If you're talking about the Musée International d‘Horlogerie museum watch, I was under the impression that it uses a Valjoux 7750, not the ETA 2801 found in the handwinding Laco 42 and 45 mm watches. Either way, I'm sure Laco (or any other manufacturer for that matter) wouldn't fit hands to movements that would prevent them from functioning properly.

Oh sorry for the misunderstanding, i mean with the MIH the issue of the sec hands too heavy or long which in the end the had to fit newer versions of it.

I reasoning was, even the proven worskhorse movt of the 7750 had this problem, will the movt in this version of Laco have the same.

I do not remember that I ever heard/read about this problem, the Valjoux 7750 is known to have a powerful gear train so I can't imagine the movement will have problems with larger hands (we are talking about mgrms). Pls. provide an URL to get more input on that. Thank you in advance.

Yes, but the movement in your example was heavily modified with additional date wheels wasn't it? I would suspect that if there were any problems with the first MIH that it might have stemmed from a poorly executed retro-fit rather than an issue with the weight of the hands on a base movement. Conversely, the ETA movement used in the 45 mm Laco will have minimal, if any, modifications made to it - so there won't be anything to worry about.

Does this mean you're considering getting one of the new 45s?

Very exciting Takashi! You'll probably be one of the first and I imagine it won't be very long now. I hope you'll post your impressions here once it arrives.
