    Scratched mineral crystal

Out of carelessness the crystal got scratched -- another watch hit it while I was arranging items in the watch box. I now have two small nicks, a bit over a mm each , at the 7 position. I can try and live it with but the feeling of having these just nags me. I was thinking, will auto rubbing compound take this off? Am just worried it may just cloud the surface. Or is there any other way to get rid of this? TIA Cheers

I do not think Polywatch will touch Mineral Glass?

I would live with it. See it as a "Battle Scar" !

Agreed. I actually enjoy the "wear" marks that I add to my watches. However, we are all different in our tastes, so if it really bothers you why not contact Laco for a replacement crystal? It's a quick and easy repair for any watch professional. Oh, and is there any way you could post a photo?

Sorry to hear that Kubelwagen. Is that the Black Automatic you just bought?
I too don't like to get scratches. I've been lucky so far, knock on wood.
Maybe you could ask about a sapphire replacement.

Thanks for the kind replies and suggestions guys. Hmmm, battle scars... I may probably just live with it, as its just obvious when viewed at a certain angle. Anyways, will also think about the suggested corrections.

And yes, its the recent purchase I made.

    Cheers

Make it a Vintage!!! LOL A few scratches is very glaring and you feel something not happy abt it. But the whole surface going that way, You dont give a damm and it will become a beater.

Those two small white marks between 7 and 8? Pfffft. I'd call that a modest start at best. Now get out there and put some real wounds on that tool. I want to see some dings, a few deep gouges, and scratches - lots and lots of them. Never mind this mamby-pamby nonsense with two little white marks, put some miles on that Laco and make us all proud.

Agree with Uwe. That is nothing, hardly visible!

I guess am just being too mindful about it. So to redirect focus, I've put it on a bund. Planning to get a black one soon. Mileage? Definitely -- its been on wrist in since this morning. Cheers
