Is there something wrong with my Laco?

So I received my laco on Tuesday and i just noticed there seems to be a pause for a split second right before the watch passes over the 56th second

You can see it doing its 6 beats per second and right after it passes 55 and momentarily pauses and then continues on after 56 its really weird. I made a YouTube video of it. Is this normal or should i send it back? I also saw my second hand stop once for a second when my hand was rocking back and forth once to hear the movement since its very noisy (which i found out is normal for the miyota movement)

Anyways let me know what you guys think of the video?

No doubt about it, it definitely stops and hesitates at 56. It's probably just a little piece of crap in the movement. Even though it's new (I assume), I would take it to a local watchmaker and have them take a look at it. I bet it's easily remedied.

    Good luck,

Did you buy it brand new from a shop or from the Laco site? if so I'd send it back explaining the problem, I'm sure the warranty would cover it.

You have too much of the "shakes".

If I look further down on the Seconds hand when it moves, I do not think I can se the "hesitation".
Please look again, but look on the Seconds hand over the black dial area.

The thing is if it hesitated in one area, it would need tocatch up for you to have the accurancy you have.

    Jano,

    I think you're right.

That's a fascinating link AC. I wonder why anyone would develop an indirect seconds mechanism? While it may keep correct time, it would annoy the heck out of me.

I once had an Oris that had a second hand stutter. This watch had a 2836 in it. It gradually got worse and worse until I couldn't take it anymore so I sent it to Oris' authorized service center in the US. They reported that there was nothing wrong with the watch, regulated it, and returned it to me. Whatever it was was fixed just by them removing the case back, and examining and adjusting the movement. The stutter never returned.

I am sure this is a minor issue. I would not return the watch to Laco in Germany. I would instead take it to a competent watchmaker near you and have them take a look.

    Good luck,

    Myron

There are multiple reasons, in fact a lot of the higher end watches use that kind of mechanism. When the spring tension on the seconds wheel is correctly adjusted, you will not see any stutter. I own two miyota watches (including this exact Laco) that do not stutter at all. It won't affect accuracy so if it doesn't bother you I wouldn't send it back. If it does, Laco may be willing to have a look at it.

I emailed laco and they said based of my video that it seems to be "normal operation"...
