Question Where can I find a vintage roller buckle like the ones on LACO pilot?

Does anyone know if I can get some vintage roller buckles--like the ones on LACO pilot? And I do mean just like em. The ones I found are poor in quality, nickel plated or just too thick around the pins. Thanks a million!

You can buy a strap from Laco and butcher it. I doubt anybody made them before the "B-uhren mania" started!

Imo the metal bit with the roller tube is too thick between the two leather straps. Makes for a weird hump on the outside.

I removed the outside roller tube, it is much nicer now.

Btw, the originals were plated Brass.

Having wanted to make a few custom straps a couple of years ago, I too searched high and low for a suitable roller buckle. In the end I actually found many, but they were either too big or too small. None were in the 20 to 24 mm size that I was after. I did end up buying a gross of 18 mm ones off eBay. I'd suggest that you keep looking. Try your local leather supply too. And if you find something good, let us know.
