The way to get sound back is to remove the battery for 5 minutes or so.
I try pushing all 4 buttons and I get a beep. A little pad lock appears in the display but not the word "suunto". Nothing else happens.
What am I doing wrong?
Ron
Check in your manual under button lock... You are not getting them all to press at the same time. Whats happening is your are activating the button lock.
Its kind of hard to get all 4 buttons to engage at once.
Suunto... Replacing Luck!
Thanks Jeff:
After some practice I got all four pushed in sync. Looks much better now!
I just adjusted my contrast, it's much better now!
Thank's!
Thanks for doing such a great job with this forum Jeff! I have been lurking around for about the last three months and am now the proud parent of a Blank/Orange (my favorite) and a Black/Yellow (close second). I switched out the orange strap and lugs for a standard black strap from Suunto and that moved the Black/Orange into 1st place. I bought the Black/Yellow first thinking it's display would be slightly easier to read than the Black/Orange but when I saw your post with the instructions for changing the display contrast I went for it and really like it. I have owned several Suunto watches and this is by far the best. I actually had an issue with the Black/Orange - all three buttons on the left side stopped funtioning and with the watch in the locked mode too. I tried removing the battery and leaving it out for a while to see if that would "reset" anything but no deal. So I sent it back and Suunto Watches replaced it in three days! I have really enjoyed the informational posts and all the photos of people showing off their watches, and will continue to. I'll try ot post some photos of my Black/Orange with the standard strap in a day or two...looks muc better I think and I like the fit of the band better than with the lugs. Thanks again!
Welcome my friend! Post often!
Its great to see you! Yeah, Im beginning to have issues with my light button on my Core... It may be going back. Im considering waiting a bit longer.
Again, welcome!

Sorry to hear your having a button issue too. Hope yours is returned as quickly as mine was. I'm not sure if it was the temperature swings I put mine through or the pounding it took...I take care of my equipment but I use it too. Button problems don't seem to be too commmon. Got sw1.0.3, hw3A on the one I recieved; do you know what the latest versions of each are by any chance?
Yep, really diggin' this black/orange! This might just last me until Suunto comes out with a solar version of an ABC one of these days...just dreaming, but that is about the only thing I can think of that would make it much better.
Anyway, thanks for the welcome message and agian, great job on the forum...and on that note I'll go try and take some photos of the new Core and quit posting off topic on this thread (which was key to knowing how to adjust the contrast- took it down one from 6 to 5).
