Official Suunto Help Desk Instructions for Contrast Adjustment on Core Displays

These instructions may be a bit more clear. These are the official instructions from the Suunto Help Desk. This process will allow you to adjust the display on any Lumi or Core models. Thanks to Magnum IP and Geremy for sharing!!! *NOTE* In order to change the contrast on your Core you will need to put it in sleep mode and this will erase all logs! 1. Press and hold the upper left, lower left, upper right and lower right buttons until 'SUUNTO' appears on the display. 2. When the display is blank press the upper left button once - 'SUUNTO' will appear on the screen 3. While 'SUUNTO' is still displayed press and hold the upper left button 4. Highlight the 'contrast' option then press the middle right button. 5. Change the contrast using the upper right and lower right buttons 6. I dont know that the difference would show up in pics. But its definitely better.

I performed the sequence and raised the contrast to level 3. It does make a world of difference! As an aside, it did *not* erase any of my logs or settings! Great tip!

EDIT: I did have to recalibrate my compass, though it did remember my declination setting.

So I assume that boosting the brightness of the display will shorten the battery life a bit?

Just increased my Core Stealth to +5 from the factory +3 and it is noticeably improved.

Hi Chris... I tried pushing all 4 buttons on my Vector and it didnt like it! LOL...
