    Storm Alarm

    Hello you all!

First, let me apologize for my bad english. My first language is portuguese, so writing in english is not that easy as I wish it should be.

The Coreīs manual (yeah, I have a brand new Alu Brown) explains that the storm alarm only works if the active profile is "Barometer".

That means that when Iīm in "Automatic" mode, even if the Core choose the "baro" mode, the alarm will not work?

    Thanks in advance,
    Alessandro Caneda

Yes, the storm alarm works when you are in "auto" mode. As long as in the "auto" mode it is in the barometer profile .

    but....

While in auto - If the fall in pressure is enough to trip the change into alti, it will do this instead of setting off the alarm. So the alarm will only sound if the fall in pressure is greater than that to set off hte alarm, but less than required to change profile.

So if you want to make sure, choose baro profile.

And there īs a way to know what would be the fall in pressure required to change the profile?

    Re: Storm Alarm

STORM ALARM is triggered when pressure falls 4 hPa/0,12 inHg or more during a 3-hour period.

When the device moves 5 meters in altitude within 3 minutes (approx 0.5 hPa = 15 feet ), the ALTIMETER
profile is activated. When the device does not move in altitude for 12 minutes,
    the BAROMETER profile is activated.

    HA

my core switched profiles from baro to alti about ten minutes before a huge storm broke out. i guess that's yet another way to tell if a storm is coming when you're sitting still

    Yeah, it works!
Just happened with me yesterday! The storm started with a lot of wind, before the rain.

    Re: Storm Alarm

    It works! :)

Today, while I was in barometer mode, I had two storm alarms... I thought that was a mistake, maybe an "elevator factor" that fooled the watch.

Then I change to automatic mode, and about 1 hour later I had another storm alarm!

Cool! I mean, the alarm, not the storm.:)
