    I'm not a fan of display front watches...
    Too much going on/clutter.

    i think thats the whole point of open worked dials and skeletonized movements...

    its for people who want to see the complicated movement and can appreciate the beauty of it.

    heres another example... self winding version with date.

    I've never really like the AP Royal Oak but have grown to admire it more and more of late. That said I think the appeal is in its robust simplicity - and any design showing/complications take away the appeal for me.

    beauty is in the eye of the beholder. for people who can appreciate it, the complication or clutter (as eastcoast calls it) is the appeal.
