GO Senator Hand Date vs JLC MUT Moon 39

Not quite sure if this is "high-end" enough but here goes my question:

Was long considering the JLC Master Ultra Thin Moon 39...beautiful watch, love the timeless design, I think its a perfect dress watch. Then I tried on a Glashutte Original Senator Hand Date and have fallen in love with that too! Love the balanced dial. Both have high quality finishing and a great in-house movement.

The GO is about $4000 cheaper. Any reason not to get this over the JLC? When I tried them both on side by side i liked them both equally. There is enough money to buy the JLC ready, but I certainly can't buy both at this time.

wow, tough choice - JLC and GO are my two favourite brands and these two pieces are very nice indeed. I recently bought a JLC (Master Chrono) and a GO (Senator Navigator) and can confirm that they both feature excellent finishing and movement quality. The price difference is fairly significant and I would say that they are of similar quality but the JLC has greater name recognition and historical pedigree (if that's important to you). The other thing to note is that the JLC is quite flat while the GO is thicker and chunkier so I would say the JLC is a more elegant dress watch while the GO is more casual. The JLC also has a bit more colour with the moon phase while the GO is more mono-chromatic. One negative for both for me (with my 50 year old eyes) is that its hard for me to read the date on both as the date dials are quite small, I would prefer to have a large digits on a wheel instead, but that would take away from the aesthetics of these two fine timepieces.

First of all, they are both definitely high end watches. With my wife having a JLC and me having a GO HandDate, I can tell you without hesitation to go with the Glashutte. Way more "manly" and the quality is superb.

Very tough choice but i would go for the Glashutte.

They're both excellent watches, and while I prefer the aesthetics of the JLC Master Ultrathin Moon, if you like them both equally, then I see no reason not to go with the GO Hand Date.
