High-end Chrono under 15k - what are my options?

    Greetings all,

I'm in the market for my first high-end, and I'm looking to keep it under 15K if at all possible (I would be able to stretch a little further if the piece appeals to me enough). I'm not too interested in 3-hand dress watches, nor in a watch made of a precious metal, as I want to maximize my horological bang for the buck (as opposed to geological). Preferably steel, chrono and/or moonphase, with date.

I really like some of the offerings from ALS, but I am not sure if anything they offer fit my specifications and price range.

I would prefer to buy new, but used is always an option...

    Thanks much for any help!

For a sportier chronograph, check out the Vacheron Constantin Overseas. A new one might be slightly above budget.

ALS will be tough with a $15K budget, even if you go second hand. You can look at GO, they're a great value and very well finished.
For chronos - maybe a Rolex Daytona or AP RO Chrono... both would be available within your price range (new for the Rolex, used for the AP).
I don't know much about moon phases so can't really help you there. I'm sure there's a JLC model that might work.

Not sure is this what you were after, but its a Chrono, Complicated with Moon Phase and Perpatual Calender, Style, Presence because of its size, Iconic Movement designed by Kurt Klaus, Stainless Steel, and it just goes on for me. I recently aquired this IWC within your set budget.

I really like that VC. Definitely one to consider. I'm worried that I might get a bit of a nagging feeling if I don't just save a bit more and pick up a Lange 1, now that think a bit more. It would probably be closer to the 20k mark though..

The Kurt sure is nice too. How big is the case..? I'm a bit concerned that it is too big - I've got a rather small 5.2 inch wrist to work with.
