I had my Portuguese appraised along with my wife's diamond solitaire and a necklace, and all are scheduled on my home insurance
The premium is $371/year, no deductible. Money well spent for peace of mind.
The rest of my watches are covered by my basic home insurance policy

I do the same as PortAuto. My expensive items are listed on a special rider on my homeowners insurance. I pay about the same for my annual premium with a $0 deductible. Worth the price for peace of mind.
Great topic, thanks for bringing this up! I'm wondering if anyone carries private insurance to cover shipping their watches for repairs or buying & selling?

Mine are covered under a "floater" policy

Hooah kid.
My watches aren't high end, but for the more expensive stuff I take out specific insurance under my home insurance for them. They're covered anywhere, even when I'm wearing them. Worth the added expense for me to know that if they're stolen then a new shopping adventure wouldn't be too far away![]()

This is what I do to. Some of mine must live in the safe if not on me though...
I was actually discussing this topic with my wife today as she thought she misplaced some valuable jewelry as we just returned from vacation. She found her ring but mentioned it was insured. I brought up my watches so we will be looking to get them insured as well.
