    Ikepod, please share your thoughts

As most of you guys know, Ikepod has made a new start and have changed things quite a bit. The most important thing, the quality of the watches went up and the production went down. They now only produce 300 watches each year and only have 20 points of sale. Ikepod can only be bought at the best and/or most exclusive watch dealers.

At Baselworld I have tried the watches on and I must say the impressed me. The quality of the build and the finishing is great. The watches wear very comfortable and the combination of titanium and rubber makes them featherlight. They use ETA movements for the regular models and modified 7750's for the chrono's with GMT function. The square models have two Quartz movements.

The regular model retails at EUR 10.500,- and the chrono is EUR 11.500,- That is within the price range of an IWC Portuguese Automatic 7-Days. The Quartz models are about EUR 5.000,- and with a gold bracelet they are well over EUR 20.000,-.

Now my questions is, would you buy this?

Of course I took some pics ;)

Only if I was an international pole dancing champion (certified under the IPDC board of members) and Ikepod sponsored me.

    Otherwise, No.

At $10 thousand or more, I require my watch to have an in-house movement at the very least. So a firm No thank you from me.

Re: Ikepod, please share your thoughts

For $10k or more, I would ask for a movement with a free-sprung variable inertia balance at the very least ... doesn't matter if it's "in-house" or "out-house" and a high level of finish (proper anglage), and preferably nice decoration.
    Collection:
A few of this and some of the other ...
