I am getting ready to purchase this watch over the bay. What do you guys know about these watches? are they reputable watch maker? Couldn't find any info. They are also COSC certified but thats probably decades ago as there are revisions now. It does come with papers and certificates.
The question also is, the back of the movement where it is engraved Krieger, all that I have seen on the web of the Krieger Aficionado B929, has an engraving underneath Suisse Chronometre, and this one does not. Does that mean it is a duplicate? Or this is probably one of the earlier ones made?
The watch is nothing special nor exceptional because of its more than common and pedestrian movement which is the valjoux 7750, even tough it has geneva waves or rotor decoration, it is definitely not a movement that a purist considers as a high end movement. I would rather chase something with a valjoux 72, valjoux 88, omega 321, lemania 1340 or a zenith el primero 400 if I wanted something high end and/or exceptional.

Of course the 7750 is still being made and most (if not all) the others are not. And the 7750 was the result of evolution and improvement on some of these other calibres. So I find it difficult to say it is worse than them. I find the mentioned calibres interesting. I have a few. But few ever attained the COSC rating of this 7750.
So I am at a loss as to why the OPs watch is not at least the equal of the mentioned movements...
On Krieger, it's a watch company that has offices in Miami and functions as an assembleur (the work is contracted to subs in Switzerland). It appears to be sold mostly in expensive jewelry stores and has been around for a decade or so.
thank you georges, i now have idea of watches. Well a better reference point when thinking about high end watches. your input is greatly appreciated, I did come across the valjoux 72 and the omega 321 on the speedmasters and took notice of the higher-end. I'm still a young guy, and learning a lot more about watches, well lets say im far ahead then most of my friends when it comes to watches. The next time im looking at watches I will thinking more about the movements, actually I will be reading up more on the movements as i still dont seem to know much about or what separates them from the other besides being an in-house and the manufactured. I want to learn more about the history and prestige it comes.
I do now understand that the valjoux 7750 is common, since i now happen to own all three. had it on my first movado kingmatic chronograph, then the tag heuer professional chronograph, and to the now kriegler chronometre. I love them all, I think this is what being a watch enthusiast is all about just having your own preference and having a appreciation for the context of the art.
yep, you got that right. well I passed on the watch, at the time it was a good deal and still is, its back on the bay right now. Thanks guys Eeeb, wasteoftime, appreciate yall input. This forum have been very informative.
