    Video MB&F : the new Machine !

Close your eyes… go back 100 years.

And now imagine: if MB&F had existed a century ago, what would we have created ?

That crazy idea was the starting point of our new Machine. Not just for the thrill of traveling through time – a childhood dream! – but also because our futuristic Horological Machines have always had firm foundations in the very best of traditional watchmaking. Those who know Maximilian Büsser well, know he is an unconditional admirer of 18th and 19th century horology – the Golden Era, when virtually everything was invented.

It was time to pay tribute to the Grand Masters of that Era. But in true MB&F fashion of course.

We needed two new Friends to make this happen: Jean-François Mojon – one of the most innovative watchmakers today – and Kari Voutilainen, among the most highly-regarded watchmakers when it comes to classic horology and respect for tradition. The result of this explosive combination is more than a new Machine… it’s a new line: today we announce LEGACY MACHINE NO.1 !

The movement of Legacy Machine No.1 (LM1) was created from scratch, but echoes the classic calibre designs of a century ago. The finish is impeccable… but don’t take our word for it. Ask Kari, who for the first time has accepted to put his name on a movement other than his own.

Despite the beautiful harmony of the movement, you may notice an important element is missing: the balance wheel, the heart of any timepiece, and for good reason the obsession of our horological ancestors… Accordingly, LM1’s balance wheel has been placed where it deserves: at the very forefront! It literally floats above the dial…

In fact, the balance wheel levitates above two dials – driven by the same unique regulating system – giving you two totally independent times, not just offset by the usual hours or half-hours like other GMT watches, but by whatever time lapse you might need.

Finally, you may also have noticed an unusual sextant-shaped instrument, placed at 6 o’clock: the world’s first vertical power reserve.
LM1 exists in red or white gold.
