    If you happen to be in New York on Wednesday September 18th, and you also happen to have trousered an outrageous bankerís bonus, the high-end watch action is all taking place at Antiquorumís first auction of the Fall at The Fuller Building.

    The auction dedicates itself to limited edition watches. Expensive limited edition watches. A varied selection includes exceptional examples of modern limited edition timepieces from many of the usual suspects including brands such as Audemars Piguet, Jaeger -LeCoultre, IWC, Panerai and of course Patek Philippe. Prior to the auction, previews will be held in Hong Kong, Shanghai and New York. Here are some of the highlights of the auction.

    The highlight of the auction will be the Audemars Piguet Platinum Skeletonized Tourbillon Minute Repeater Chronograph, Ref. 26270. Made in 2009, itís a rare minute-repeating, wristwatch with visible one-minute tourbillon regulator, round button chronograph and 30 minute register. The watch comes with its original wooden box, a Certificate of Authenticity, a guarantee and instruction manual. Estimate: US$ 250,000 - $350,000

    The auction also includes two IWC Il Destriero Scafusiaís. The first is a 1997 fine and rare minute repeating, platinum wristwatch No. 34/125 with flying one-minute tourbillon regulator, square button split-seconds chronograph, registers, perpetual calendar and moon phases. The watch comes with its original box, a guarantee, and an extra strap and booklet. Estimate: US$ 150,000 - $250,000

    The second example is No. 40 of 125 with a flying one-minute tourbillon regulator, square button split-seconds chronograph, registers, perpetual calendar and moon phases. The original wooden box features an inlaid picture of Schaffhausen, and comes with a certificate, guarantee, technical literature, an instruction booklet and a display box. Estimate: US$ 100,000 - $150,000

    The Jaeger-LeCoultre, Reverso Gyrotourbillon 2 on auction is no. 04 of 75. Made in pink gold circa 2008, this is a complicated reversible wristwatch with a visible Jaeger-LeCoultre calibere 174 movement with an inclined two-cage multi-axis spherical tourbillion with up to 50 hour power reserve and 24-hour indication and "1000 Hours Control". In addition to the original wooden box and certificate there is also a magnifying glass to inspect the exquisite handiwork. Estimate: US$ 180,000 - $240,000

    From the House of Hublot comes the Ref. MP-02 Flying Tourbillon Titanium PVD Coated No. 08/50. Manufactured in 2010, itís a limited edition of 50 pieces. The watch is made from ceramic titanium and features a visible one-minute flying tourbillon regulator viewable in the band at 6 oíclock. The watch features a time speed indicator, power reserve indicator and a special integrated rubber strap with a titanium PVD-coated Hublot deployant clasp. As with the other watches it comes with its original box. Estimate: US$ 130,000 - $200,000

    Patek Philippe normally manage to come away as the top prize in auctions of this nature, always commanding impressive sums, however this particular offering is relatively low key. Itís a Patek Philippe Ref. 5940 offered for the first time at Antiquorum. Itís a very recent model too, having been released only last year. Itís a cushion-shaped, 18K yellow gold wristwatch with a perpetual calendar, moon phases and 24-hour indication. It comes with the fitted box, Certificate of Origin, solid 18K yellow gold case back, setting pin and relevant booklets. Estimate: US$ 40,000 - $60,000
