I'm surprised & disappointed that after nearly two months showing my thread, no other examples of marble clocks being shown. Perhaps other owners of marble clocks are not interested. My marble clock - the top one shown reminds me of the history how I managed to acquire it. It was purchased from an antique shop in Caulfield ,Victoria, Australia. The auction house normally stock marble clocks of different kinds [ un- restored ]. When I picked mine up, there were no pendulum inside the clock!! I was asked to pick one from the box where about a dozen or so were kept. I was so lucky to have picked the right one. Two days later after I bought the clock , I heard from the news that the auction house was on fire!!. The remainder of the clocks perished- what ashamed. The is the sad story I never forget. One marble clock that I liked, but could'nt afford to buy had a domed marble top, not to mention being destroyed.
