i picked up a wwII ear clock, was working beautifully till someone knocked it off my desk, now it wont run. does anyone know how to open it up? seems to be a front loader, but dont want to force itthanks

I have to laugh as you got off easy, I have essentially the same clock but when mine got knocked off >my< desk it broke the winder off.
But yes, mine comes out the front. The glass is held in place with a snap ring which can be easily levered out with a small flat blade screwdriver or the tip of a knife.
