    Movado Bold

I was shopping at Saks with my wife the other day and they had a bunch of Movado Bolds on display. One really caught my eye. I was never really drawn to Movado's. I mean I've always liked the minimalist look and the simple beauty that is Movado but I always thought they were too sleek and elegant for everyday wear. I have know a few people that wear Movados and I always thought the watch looked too dressy for the occasion. Feels like I need to be at a black tie event to wear one. However, the Movado Bold was very stylish, contemporary and casual looking. It was something I can wear with jeans and a t-shirt. It did not look at all like a dress watch, especially the dark grey one with the orange accent. The ones in glossy black could be pass for a dress watch though. Since Saks had a 20% friends and family discount at the time, I decided to get one.

The watch itself is pretty thick but since the body is tapered, it gave it a thinner look. The body is made out of aluminum and the bracelet is rubber so the the entire watch weighs next to nothing. I do have to say the aluminum body is a concern as it will dent and scratch easily if not careful. I love how the rubber texture on the bracelet. I think it was designed to resemble brushed metal but without the weight. At first I thought the bracelet was ceramic or titanium. I'm in love with the simplicity of the face with just a brush aluminum dial at 12 o'clock. Turns out it represents the sun at high noon (I did not know this). The face itself has circular grooves that reminds me of a Japanese zen garden. I do not have any trouble telling time without the markings like others have complained about Movados. I am very happy with my purchase especially at the discounted price. Here are some pics. Sorry for the poor iphone pictures.

They didn't have the right box (they only have boxes for the strap versions not the bracelet) so Movado Customer Service is actually going to send me the right one.

I like it! A little more "casual" than most Movados. Good pick up!
