Need opinions on these watches

Well, I'm looking to purchase one of my first serious watches for myself.
I like simple yet elegant and can't decide between them.

This is the one I'm definitely getting. I like the black style, the only think I don't like are the little clocks in the background, if they weren't there this watch would be perfect. If anyone finds similar watch I'd be more than thankful.

I kind of don't like the gucci name in the lower left corner, doesn't look to professional but I really like the elegant style that this watch offers.

Any thoughts and opinions are welcome.

They are nice watches...ultimately it's about wearing what you like right? I would get the G-Timeless one with the silver dial...you're already getting a JL watch with a black dial...mix it up a bit.

These are nice watches...considered more of a fashion watch but nothing wrong with that...my Burberry sits in a watch box with all my 'serious' watches. However...I've yet to hear anything bad about Gucci. Grab the watch and post a pic or two when you get it.

Gucci have had quite a few quality issues over the years. I bought one a few years ago and the flimsy caseback assembly broke at the first battery change. Apparently they aren't well regarded in horological circles, with long-term durability being the main weakness. Personally, I think something like a Tissot or Longines would be a better bet. Although they look nice, I would not buy another.

Although they look nice, I would not buy another.

That bothers me. I'm looking to get a watch for everyday wear so I do want it to be durable. It quiet surprises me becasue you spent so much money on a watch, and you'd think it would last longer than year or two.

On the other hand, I was looking at Tag Heur watch.

This one, it is a beauty simply saying, but after some research I found out that they're not that durable, and they usually break down (crown, date), after the warranty expires.

I have an earlier version of this watch that I picked up used in a pawn shop. I like it ok, but mine differs from the new version in that the "Gucci" name appears in the 'normal' place centered near the top of the dial.

Actually, I like where the Gucci name appears on new versions over the old. To each his/her own I guess...

I would get either the silver dialed Gucci G timeless or the TAG Heuer Carrera. They both look nice, the only question (aside from price) is whether or not you want a quartz or an automatic. I have two TAG quartz watches that I am very pleased with, though they were both made several decades ago. If you are going to buy the TAG, I'd suggest going to an AD, which can help you if you run into some sort of a quality problem rather than purchasing it through amazon.

Get a Longines Hydoconquest. It's a beautiful dive watch...and can be found at less than $1000...I've been tempted to get one myself. Much durable.
