In the early 2000s, Breitling stopped putting the words "SWISS MADE" on their watches' dials.
It has been suggested that this change was decided simply for aesthetical reasons.

Breitling watches are, of course, still made in Switzerland, and the origin of the watch is now written on the case back ("MANUFACTURÉ EN SUISSE", which means the same in French).

Variations of this message included "T SWISS MADE T" (using Tritium as luminscent material) and "L SWISS MADE L" (using Luminova as luminescent material). The use of Tritium has been discontinued.
