The "What Time Is It?" project

    Hey everyone,

I thought of the ultimate watch collector dream... having an endless collection, where every minute of the day could be displayed on a different timepiece.

Of course this would be extremely hard to accomplish in the real world...
on the Internet, however, it is more realistic.

That's why I started the "What Time Is It?" project, which goal is to show one picture per minute, with a random "nice" watch displaying the current hours and minutes.

For instance, at 10:37, this could be something like:

... or any other 10:37 picture that our watch community could wish to share. This would be one of the biggest slideshows ever.
Sounds crazy? Hey, the data base has been set up, and just needs thousands of pictures to get going!

Point your browser to What Time Is It? to check it out, around 10:10 for instance...

For now, the default picture appears most of the time (only 4% of the minutes of the day are covered) -- but the point is to see more of everyone's watches.
So, just pick some of your good shots, fill in the short description, and add them to the list!

    Thanks for your help...

    Don
(still in awe of the potential of this new toy )

    Great project, Don !!!!
Only Breitling pics ? ( would be the max ! )
    Hmmmm...we're making "history" !!!!

I'm now at work, but when I am home I will send you some pics.

All the watches in "portrait mode" ( 12 above ) or is landscape mode ( 3 above ) also allowed ?

    Thank you, gentlemen!

Yes, we could imagine having the ability to filter the pictures, but this will be when there will be many more!

The watch does not have to be 12 o'clock on top -- and image landscape/portrait format does not matter, either.
Just pick a nice watch, clearly readable, and voilą.

    Cheers,
    Don

(PS: It works on my mobile phone too!)

I love it! I sent you a few to help get it rolling and I'll be sending more later. I downsized the resolution (re-sized the jpegs using "Paint") so they will load quicker. Any preference as to width or aspect ratio? I can adjust before sending if you like.

A very worthy project my good friend! Thanks for making this available to our members. :thanks

Woo-hoo! Many thanks Ron, you are the man!
Your pics are now safely stored, and ready to be displayed at 12:57, 01:43, 03:26, etc.!

In fact, you don't even have to resize the pictures before uploading them; the server handles that automatically.

Thanks again for your superb pics, much appreciated -- looking forward to seeing them in a few minutes...
    Cheers, my very good friend.
