It may not be an automaton caterpillar or a prototype bakelite doo-hicky, but it's still cool. Actually, it's super cool. What it is is a vintage Rolex desk clock in the shape of a diver's helmet.

This promotional clock is made of copper and features that famed Sea Dweller dial. Wait a minute, actually that's not a Sea Dweller dial at all. It's not black and there is definitely no date window at 3 o'clock.

Oh well. I guess Rolex didn't feel like making this thing exactly like the Sea Dweller watch, and honestly, to us, that makes this even cooler.

As of right now, this Rolex promotional clock sits at $560 on Antiquorum's new online auciton site Direct Bid. It doesn't take much to register and there are some deals to be had, including this desk clock, which would easily sell for a few thousand if on eBay.
