    Mako II XL Lume

    |No bashinghere, just want to know...I note that most Orients have good lume, however I have been searching the posts for reviewsof the Mako I am getting and none are too hyped on the Lume...all say it is below average, at least when compared to its bigger brother?

Now most of the posts I have revd are from 2009, so maybe it has changed, how is the lume?

The lume on the XL I just recieved is not as bright as the Makos I have. I think the general concensus has been that the lume on this model since its inception has not been very good.

Other way around. The "bigger brother" has very weak lume; the original Mako's lume is ok, not outstanding, yet still far better than the larger Mako II.

I may have to send it back then. I like Lume, especially on a dive watch. I do not feel that lume is so expensive that dive watch manufacturers can't put the best and most on they can....why skimp. I note the 300 has fantastic lume, why not all the lines?
Almost every Seiko I see or have owned has fantasic lume, no matter what the cost is?

    OK People.
Just thought I would post one last time in this thread....
Talk about placing the cart before the horse. This Freaking watch (Mako II)....for the price (an even at double the price), is beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! regardless of the lume. OK Lumeis not great, but blows my Invicta Diver out of the water, and andin my opinuion is far classier and better lines etc.

I have to take back my insensitive thoughts and give the folks at Orient USA a double thumbs up .

I will be keeping this watch for a very long time, and will most definately order more and also tell friends about it... as in my circle, Orient is realtivly unknown....Not any more!

and keep in mind that Orient chose what appears to be the equivalent of C1 superluminova for the Mako XL; it's not as bright as the Mako 1, but it's more white. It looks better when lume is not needed IMO.

I agree however BG9w SuperLuminova is a very close second to C3, Glows Blue and is pure white when not glowing
Same stuff that the Deep Blue uses!! It is w/out a doubt like having a fire on your arm!
I know had to sell my deep blue

without a doubt I'd prefer BGw9 on the Mako XL. Not sure it's in their proprietary arsenal of lumes...
