Question about Ray's shimmer and bracelet

I've had the blue Ray for several months and very happy with it. Just wondering - how does it (and blue Mako) generate the shimmer under sunlight? Is this common with other dark dial watches?

    Bracelet:
    - I find the bracelet very difficult to remove. Maybe I just need to have better tools and skills?
    - How to proper oil the bracelet to remove any rattle noise?

    Thanks.

I am certainly no expert but I do not believe oiling the bracelet will fix the rattle you hear because I believe the noise is pretty much all generated by the end links which are not solid. I am not sure why but my Ray seems considerably louder than my Mako XL (and neither have solid end links) though it's not loud enough to make me want to change the bracelet so far.

I haven't had any trouble removing the bracelet you may want to try a spring bar tool with a fine tip like this one Swiss Made Spring Bar Tool - Watch Band Tools | Esslinger & Co if you haven't already (only takes me a few seconds and I am certainly not an old pro). The AF and Bergeon spring bar tools are basically the same (even use the same replacement tips) but the AF will save you a whole .55 cents.

And as for the Orient blue I am not as experienced with watches as a lot of these guys but I haven't seen another blue quite like it yet.

Re: Question about Ray's shimmer and bracelet

I got a spring bar tool from Amazon that looks about the same but had a difficult time removing the strap. I think I'll just leave the bracelet as it is now. I put some vaseline near the area with some rattle and that seems to have fixed the issue.

Here's a wrist shot. Hard to tell that it's actually a blue Ray. Certainly no shimmer effect here (in the evening, outside).

Good to hear the vaseline quieted the bracelet down maybe I'll give it a try on my Ray.
That is one of the things people like about the Orient blue is that its' appearance changes according to the light it can go from bright blue to looking very nearly black as you are well aware.
