Jaeger Master Grand Reveil vs. IWC Portuguese Perpetual Calendar

I am farily new to the forum and watch world. Please understand if I may sound novice =)

I am very interested in purchasing Perpetual Calendar watch and within my price range, 2 Watches caught my eye.
Master Grande Reveil (ref. 163842a) from Jaeger and Portuguese Perpetual Calendar (ref. 5022) from IWC.

I Would like to hear the opinions of these 2 watches.
What would you choose between the two? or are there any other watch you may recommend for the same price range?
Also, does anyone know why Master Grande Reveil came out with closed case back? =(

WELCOME!!! I'd go JLC, their watches tend to be of better quality than those of IWC. I would also look used on Chrono24 to see offerings from other brands. I don't know what your price range is, but I really like Audemars Piguet and Vacheron Constantin. You can't go wrong with JLC, its a very high quality brand.

Does Grande Reveil have open case back? I saw one of the Master series watch had a closed case back but you could open up the case back. I wonder if this is the case for Grand Reveil as well...

Hi I own both watches.
Grand reveil is an amazing watch the fact that you have a alarm complication makes it's interesting.
On the other hand the iwc has power reserve that is over a week long.
It really doesn't matter which watch you purchase they are both holy grail watches
