So, caught a a scratch and while somewhat faint given the ceramic material it is still there. Anyone familiar with servicing and whenever I get to that point are scratches in this surface removable/fixable??
Thanks,
trp

I've inquired about this directly with JLC Richemont regarding the ceramic bezel as I have a Navy SEALs Automatic and they told me service cannot repair damage to a ceramic bezel regardless if it is a scratch or chip; your only option is to replace the whole bezel and it's very expensive. So far, my bezel is still fine after 6 months of ownership; if your's has a faint scratch, you'll probably get used to it but you can always have the bezel replaced in the future if you wish, but they can't repair it, unfortunately.

Thanks for your reply... any thoughts as to how much a replacement is? I'm no where near there, as you said I'm just going to get over it for now, but curious as what the damage would be.
I think I banged it on a rough metal pole at the playground with my kids...![]()

I was told that it is around $1500 for a replacement bezel, but that was awhile ago, so I can't say if the estimate will still be the same in the future.
A tiny scratch from playing with your kids should be an easy one to shrug off and everytime you look at the tiny blemish, you'll have the memory of playing with your kids and think of them (hopefully in a good way, haha).![]()

Haha exactly right! But balancing that with my neurotic self may be a challenge for a little while!

Here's what you do: Take out $1,500 in cash, maybe in twenties, so it looks like a lot of cash. Then place that stack of money next to the scratch on your bezel insert. The scratch will suddenly not look too bad.
In all seriousness, I totally understand. I also have the NS Automatic, and I put what I thought was a small mark or scratch on the insert a few weeks ago. I ended up, believe it or not, taking a soft artist's eraser to it, and it completely went away! My guess is mine was more or less residual material from whatever I banged into, and not damage to the insert itself. Is it at all possible yours is something similar?
I'm not sure.. after all, ceramic is advertised as scratch resistant and I believe I had knocked it against a rough metal pole so it looks like a faint scratch but could it be metal residue? I don't know, however I would think it would wash off if it was??

My NSA got scratched and I have tried the eraser method but that did not work so I brushed the ring with a soft bristle toothbrush and some tooth paste and so far I am happy now. 1500 $ is a lot of money....
Just brushed out another scratch - crest pro health, works like a charm and looks new! I am brushing from the center of the glass over the ceramic ring towards the outside if that makes sense, just in case...
I am sure its just some kind of metal residue that needs to be cleaned off, so the ceramic ring seems to be indeed scratch proof so far. The titanium grade 5 is anyway harder than any other metal used in watchmaking and that seems to hold up as well, really a fantastic watch, love it more every day...
I tried this with some toothpaste today as noted, no luck..(
Was pessimistic, so expectations were low.
Anyone else have any tricks? I'll post a picture tomorrow.
I normally get over some bezel scratches but with this being ceramic and all, I'm a little disappointed....
