hi, can anyone recommend a book(preferably fairly cheap) which could explain all the different parts of a watch and how they are made etc. Cheers.

    TM 9-1575 – I Already Have a Watch.
It's free ( well, nothing is free, but it's already paid for with US tax dollars), and while it doesn't explain how a watch is made, it explains the parts. It's also fun to read, even if you don't intend to ever open or repair a watch!
