Can you put a quartz watch on Winder?

I have two watches a Breitling Auto and Tag Quartz. I've been looking for a winder for my Breitling. What happens if i get one that fits two and I put my Tag quartz on it? Does it damage it? Sorry, this is probably stupid but I have no experience with autos or winders. Thanks.

No quartz watch does need a winder, to put it on a winder would be completely nonsense. Winders are used to spin the rotor of an automatic watch to keep it running. A quartz movement is completely different.

I realize they don't need it, but it wouldn't hurt it to put it on would it? I have a winder that has 2 spots and only 1 automatic.

Nothing to worry about there. I don't understand why you would want to , but that's not going to do anything bad to it.

It sounds like the OP wants to put an auto on one winder to wind it, and his quartz on the other winder just to store the watch there. Maybe consider a winder which has built in storage for other watches in other compartments?

It is recommended to use both slots for balancing on a winder pair (the effect on the wear and tear on the winder itself if used singly is up for debate). For me, it is a good practice nevertheless to use both slots and sometimes use a similar size quartz watch to fill in.
