    Unhappy Help W/ Screw Extraction

In my overzealous attempt to secure my invicta bracelet to the case I sheared off the tip of the screw in the lug. All of the screw extractin tools generally available in hardware stores are too large and I'm coming at the screw at an angle due to the opposing lug. A 1/16th inch drill bit is slightly too large to get into the opening for the screw.

Any help or suggestions/links for tools appreciated.

    Thanks so much.

you might want to try posting in the watchmaking subforum as one of the people that frequent there might have a suggestion.

Do you know the case material?

If it's some non-ferrous metal(brass or gold), the old watchmaker's trick is to dissolve it out with a saturated solution of alum.

If it's stainless steel, this won't work-or rather you can end up with no case!

Hi, don't know if you got it out, yet. There is also a product by the name of "Vissin" that dissolves the screws. Bergeon repacks it into a box with their name on the box, as well. Do a Google search for "screw extracting solution" and you should find several places to purchase it. Again, don't use it unless you know what material the case is made from, or no case, it's made to dissolve steel etc., but won't dissolve brass or gold.
    Good Luck!!
