    Wink GS-1000 Thread

I have seen several people struggling with their GS-1000 to get it working properly. I'm not sure anyone found out how it works already. I don't have one and sometimes I get very confused about the terms used, because I don't have one, and therefore I don't know the dial functions. I think it's best to make a sticky thread for input and hopefully support of a member with a working GS-1000. Thanks to NBN to get this thread started

    Cheers,

    Sjors

I've got mine all figured out and will be happy to help anyone with any questions. I found the instructions for module 4330 to be the most helpful.

The trickiest thing about this watch is setting the home time zone. The manual is not very clear on this, so let me reiterate:

While in dual time mode, use button D until the red hand points to your desired home time zone. Then...

    1. Press button A
    2. While holding down button A, press button D. If you do it correctly, you will hear 2 short beeps.

If you press A & D at the same time, it will NOT work. This is the crucial step that screws up everyone.

    Re: GS-1000 Thread

This forum introduced me to this kick ass watch or else I would have never knew it exisited. I would like to put some of my input to this watch in order to work properly.

    1) Module 4330 was very helpfull instead of module 4350 which is saw a post on.

    2) Setting up home time zone : I followed SBS instructions. Then saw a post from CARL
You have to press the (D) and continue press the (D) to your time zone.
Then press and hold the (A) then press the (D)
When you hear a beep~ it is OK!
If you want to make sure that everything is OK.
You can press the (D) and continue press the (D) ,
when the second hand point to your time zone, there will be a beep~

Once you hear a beep on your time zone , your time zone has been set properly.

    3) Set up your DST (DAY LIGHT SAVINGS TIME) ON or OFF depending on where you are. this is page 2 of module 4330

    4) For all of the SO CAL peeps, face the watch to the North EAST to get the best signal. It was frustrating trying to get the signal so you would have to find the best place to do this in you house. Do this manualy at MIDNIGHT which has best time or reception. Once you KNOW THAT YOU'VE recieve the SYNC (you would know this because the time will change by itself), it should be set up at the right time. IF its not the right time then FOLLOW THE MODULE 4330 titled "ADJUSTING THE HOME POSTITIONS" it should set it up properly for your home time zone. I would also like to thank OLDSPICE for giving me a translated manual from Sieya.

Don't do as i did. I was frustrated the first couple of days i had the watch so i adjusted the watch manually just to keep proper time I didn't even know how i did it. It think that messed up the "home postions" so by the time i got my first reception of SYNC the time was wrong. It is frustating not being able to read japanese instructions but thanks to all the post i read here helped me out to enjoy my NEW and first G-shock.

Please ADD on to my post to help new owner out or point out any correction if needed.
