    Is the 3-Timer officially dead?

I was reading an article on a watch blog that mentioned a new AD starting up in Australia. One particular blurb from the article caught my eye:

A collection in which every piece is desirable; this is very rare in the watch world. LW has a genuine limited range, and very small annual production and only two families (Spido and the Oktopus), which makes it difficult to choose your favorite piece.

    Wait ,what? Two families?

A quick check of the LW website seems to confirm that -- there is no mention of a 3-timer anywhere that I can find and search returns no results.

Since this is coming on the back of the American Express Vinte Privee (sp?) sale of 3-timers, does that mean the 3-timer is dead and that was LW's way of dumping the remaining stock?

Anyone have any insight on this?

I thought it was interesting that they released a few further limited editions right before they were taken off the website. I was also under the impression that the green dial 3-timer was sold out, but the website said they were still available for a few weeks just before the chnage to the two families as you've mentioned.

Perhaps running them out took on the form of the Vente Privee sale, as well as the Microbille and Gold Accent LE's?? Who knows. Would be great to find out though. It would be a shame to see them move only to very premium products (over 10k) as I personally think the cheaper options (comparatively) such as the 3-Timer and 'The One' are fabulous bits of kit, and a lot more accessible.

    Either way I'm glad I have a 3-timer

The Okto range doesn't appeal to me at all and for the price of anything in the Spido range, I'd be more inclined to extend myself just a little further into an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak.

Personally I prefer the old Okto range, hence why when they announced the new versions I snapped up the last of the old. Glad I did!

I tend to agree on the pricing. I've been tempted by a Spido on numerous occassions, but at that price point I'd also be more inclined to pick up an AP Royal Oak.
