The One... crown issue. [edit: DLC pics inside]

    Hey folks-

So I unscrew the crown and move it out two position to begin setting the time. As I'm turning for what normally moves the time as expected, to my dismay, I realize I just unscrewed the crown right off the watch. Easy enough to screw back on but now I realize when it is engaged, I can move the time counterclockwise without issue but if trying to move time forward, I need to gently put pressure one the crown to not unscrew/unseat itself from the watch and still have the time move. Something seems off, and I am not sure if the crown is typically attached via a stem to the movement and shouldn't be able to completely screw off? Otherwise, I can't tell if there is an engagement mechanism that should prevent this from happening that may be broke.

Any help or suggestions are welcomed!

    Thank you!

Watchmaker has told me this is simply a re-application of Loctite need. The crown attached to the stem via Loctite before it's threaded on (for a screw down crown).

    Good stuff

How is your DLC's The One holding up? Would love to see some more images of it.

Hey - DLC is holding up well but the watch is worn in a pretty wide rotation so not a lot of mileage yet! I'm charging my camera batteries and will take some snaps tomorrow!

    Pics - DLC'd "The One"

It's ala the original DLC elemental... I keep going back and forth if I should leave the bezel total stealth or paint/lume the 12 index. It's currently modeled after the original DLC elemental but all the newer LW versions have this index marked. Which in the end makes sense, hard to use a bezel if you can't read at least the main marker well.

    Anyway...

    Re: The One... crown issue.

That really does look fantastic, especially on the textile strap.

I was curious as to why you'd do this when a HBII was available, but having seen the end result it all makes sense. Makes me want to do the same thing!

Cool Re: The One... crown issue.

    Looks good!

Is there by any chance you could have captured the crown issue?

Love what you have done to the One. And the strap that goes with it...gorgeous!

    Cheers.

Sorry! Forgot to snap pics before I sent it off for repair.. but basically, if you unscrew the crown, pull to second position, then begin to adjust time moving it forward after a couple turns the crown comes off of the stem. I was told crowns-->stem are normally connected via Loctite and it needs to be re-applied.

I suspect possibly it was looser than normal as the crown was removed to apply the DLC and maybe re-application/Loctite didn't take great the first go. I was told not a big deal at all and a quick fix, not to worry.
