Yet another is it real thread

Hi everyone. Firstly I just want to say thanks for checking this out and I do realize that this is my first post under this user name. I have read all the threads and know how sensitive and cautious this forum is with these types of threads because of the replica manufactures. Although this is one of my first posts I have been on the site for roughly two years. It all started when I became obsessed with a Panerai and I came here to read and learn. I eventually fell in love with the PAM 176.

I digress. I recently found a local (T.O) posting for a Hublot that until now thought would be out of reach for several years to come. I read as much as possible on this site and have looked at hundreds of real posting both on ebay and through AD's but I haven't been able to tell 100%. I'm hoping you can shed some light and save me the time of checking it out in person or worse, spending money unnecessarily.

I'll admit I have some concerns/red flags but I love the watch and can't get it out of my mind. The blurry pictures. Flag #1. Sellers response was he only has his old phone to take images. I would think someone selling a high end piece would want to take the best pictures possible. Secondly, the price. He's asking around $5000. Seems a little low to me.

What did interest me was that the box, wisekey and reader are included in the sale. I did a fair amount of searching but I wasn't able to get a definitive answer on "faking wisekeys" nor was I able to fully understand how they work. From what I did read they authenticate and give the historical information on the watch. Where and when it was purchased, service history and the like. How does the key link up to the exact watch in question? When you authenticate and log into the site does it link the serial up with the watch? Would someone be able to purchase a Hublot and then sell a replica with the original reader and card? Sorry for all the questions but without a doubt this is the forum to ask. I know Michael pops in from time to time with great information and I have read most of his posts but anything you can share would be extremely helpful.

    Now to the images.

Hard to see the screws but the one fastening the band between the 12-1 looks correct.

Pretty much useless (So blurry should be a read flag...I know)

Reflection isn't helping and I can't see the fine adjuster. Any ideas?

    The card

Crown and rubbers (Crown looks to be missing the H. Do all models have it? I see something in the image but it's too blurry)

The entire package (Again, can all these documents be faked)

I know that due to the huge growth in popularity lately a lot of fakes have been coming through. My initial reaction was fake and run like hell but the wisekey and card intrigued me. I guess they can fake anything these days but I thought the good people at WUS would be able to help.

    Thanks a lot!

Honestly, i don't know. In my opinion, walk away and don't look back. Why take the chance with what basically amounts to anywhere from a day to a month of hard work depending on who you are. Wait a few years and feel confident you have the real thing.

    Thanks for the reply.

After even more search I'm leaning toward running.

The rubbers, crown and bezel don't look correct. Bummer. Yet I still don't understand how he would include the key and card?

Hi, I have the same watch. Firstly, the crown should have the H. The metal locking clasp holding the rubbers together looks a bit weird. I believe that the card reader + key can be forged easily but once you log in, the authentication process would fail if it is fake. HOWEVER, what if the guy bought a real and a fake one, then keep the real piece and try to sell you the fake watch with real documentations and items?

Just my perspective. Good luck mate.

    Great, thanks for the reply.

That is my fear. Real key and card matched up with a fake (yet same model) as the original.

From what I read including (WiseKey x Hublot, will/should others follow?) Once you access the portal it does not match up the serial on the watch. Can anyone confirm this? Of course counterfeiters could use valid serials but I think from a manufacturing point of view that is a lot of work.

    Anyone else have some insight?
