Re: Case/Back - [Very] Rough Model

You folks must be mind readers! I was thinking of suggesting the LE number on the side as well -- I'd vote for this. Can it be like "Nr. xx/xx" -- or would this be overdoing it? At any rate the LE on the side would be nice feature.

I hope LACo can get the Laser engraving properly done the first time.
-- was there problem before? I noticed in my 45mm Type A that the case back engraving looks more like its printed, too light / shallow an engraving for me. Maybe it can be improved for this project.

Not sure if this is part of the case discussion: would we have options on the crown? i.e. like the ones shown in Dr. Knirim's book.

    Cheers

The problem was it was very shallow, almost like a laser burn mark instead of an engraving.
It was not Laco that did it, it was a sub contractor.
They redid them with a great sucess.

Maybe Laco can be reminded this time to tell them to do it properly, as sending a watch around the world is a hassle!

"Nr XX/XX" is fine with me, as is "XX/XX" only

"...like a laser burn mark" -- yes I think that's what I have on the Frankfurt

For the project I hope the engraving can be like the case back on Uwe's signature pic.

    Cheers

That is exactly what I WANT.

Most forumers had probems with the extremely shallow laser engraving, it rubbed off.

I've been checking back here every day for the past 3 weeks waiting for either a vote to be called or for someone else to say something. I really have nothing more to say on the topic of the caseback.

This is what I meant about it being easy to increase the pace of the project by calling votes when discussion slows...

I've been extremely busy at work, otherwise I would started drawing up various examples of caseback engravings to reflect what's already been discussed - you can't vote on something if you have nothing to show. I'll have some time this coming weekend and will get those drawings done then. Afterward, if no one asks for another variation, we can get a vote up and running.

I hope not. I'm still very interested in this watch, however, it's the busiest time of the year for me and no one seems to have anything to add. Unfortunately, the original estimate from Laco knocked the wind out this project's sails, but mark my words, when we have a fully designed watch ready for production, people will be scrambling to get one of the 50 available watches.

    48, not 50!

It is good to be busy!

You see! Two are already gone and we haven't even started designing the dial!
