    Re: 2011 Laco Special Edition Project - MOVEMENT

    Forgive me if I have lost track of information that is already available, but the main concern, for me at least, with the movements is the pricing. So, if you have already said this, I apologize, but could you remind us what the cost would be for the three movements under consideration. Many thanks, Manolete

    Option 2: Durowe INT 7425-4 Decorated (base project price:

    Some have asked about customizing the movement further by having it decorated. Laco has said this option is possible, at additional cost.

    Option 3: Not possible due to thinness of case

    Option 4: ETA 2824.2 - Modified to handwinding (base project price: between 898 € and 998 €)

    If ETA 2801-2 is possible, why use Eta 2824-2? What is the advantage ?

    Hence my question some time ago. If I remember correctly, Laco had to replace some parts when they removed the automatic winding module we used on the Laco WUS LE.
    I have had some slight problems with the movement, nothing serious, but , according to my watchmaker, associated to the modification.

    Ease of reading? Are you saying my posts are difficult to read? Well, pfffft to you!

    Actually, I'd prefer that when someone is quoted that their text remain original. It's not right to change what was originally written when it appears in an "Originally Posted by:" box. Editing and paraphrasing should be done without using the quote feature.

    BASE watch pricing based on movement used:
    Durowe = 1,498 €
    Durowe (decorated) = 1,498 € ++
    ETA = between 898 € and 998 €

    With regard to the question of using a 2801 I will ask Laco. I assumed there was a good reason for why they offered the modified 2824 instead - maybe they thought they we would want the date complication, which I don't think the 2801 has?

    Your posts are never difficult to read, Uwe, but the poster Manolette did not know where to find the info.

    I removed the pics, as the large size of them would make my re-post unvieldy.
    As for making changes, that is something we have to live with, it must be acceptable if not the context is changed....
    I do not think we can remove the "Originally posted" bit. And to retype all the info takes too long.

    Yes, the 2801 is date-less.

    I think that it is not possible for Laco to order just 50 movements, and get them quickly. I guess they have a standing order for the 2824.

    EDIT; Well, my statement is wrong. They do make watches with the 45mm case and a 2801 Hw movement.

    A new version is being sold now, with a decorated movement.

    First, it seems that everyone is happy to go eta because of price concerns.

    The 2801 would be the best choice, and laco should already have them around. With the 2824, we're paying for a lot of movement that we won't be using: date complication, automatic winding and also realise that we're paying for labour to modify it and also any replacement parts.

    Unless we go crazy, all we need to do is to have Laco make a new dial.

    Janne, I'm starting to think you can just speak for me regarding this LE! The 2801 option sounds much better since we don't need the complications, and potentially cheaper.

    I'm ready to order!
