Since the question of the case size seems to crop up most of the time.
What say we start on the voting on the case size?
Actually, the Laco Buhrs do not look like all the others out there. It's actually the other way around. They were one of the originals....everything after them is actually the clone or derivative. It's not the minor details; its the big details. Thin bezel for maximum dial circumference. Dial font and printing that is the best and most accurate. Hand set design. Mid case flat lugs, just like the original 55mm. These features set the watch apart form the others.
All that being said, I have been a part of or have participated, and have owned, just about all the limited edition or special edition Laco that were based on the buhrs and YES..................I don't really see the point of doing yet another one in the 42 or 45mm cases. The current offering are about the most accurate down sized......they are the most accurate of all of them...............out in the market today. I don't think we can improve on what is already offered in the current line.
I did suggest that a buhr in a 47mm case would be cool, but I guess that is out.
So.............
The w-SS is a good start.

We should come up with a theme first as it might dictate the case size. For example, a larger case for a B-Uhr would be more appropriate, just like a smaller case for a Navy would be more suiting.
Perhaps a series of smaller steps to decide on a theme?
- Military or Civilian design?
- If Military, should it be based on an airforce or navy design?
- If Civilian, which era? Dressy or sport?
The movement offered is a NOS Vintage Durowe.
If I may say, a frigging appropriate movement. Made in Germany!!!!!
I believe reading that Laco sources the more expensive (with the special Laco lugs) cases from Germany.
If the dial is also made in Germany, This will be a very much "Made in Germany" watch.
And we can boast that it has an Inhouse movement!!!
BTW, Uwe, count me in for this Project, (if we do not go larger than 45mm)
Valgrange is out. DuRoWe is in.
46 or 47 - Laco make cases 38, 42, 45 and 55mm.
BTW, I forgot one thing: Not sure if I am not breaching the copyright of Knirim me copying his pictures?
Wonder if one of our German members can contact Mr Knirim and ask if that is OK?also, if we decide to go with a Military Dial, if we are allowed to use his book for reference?
(Maybe we could have 51 watches made. No 51/51 given for free to Mr Knirim as a Thank You, and we all split the cost? ?
I would like to have the same number as the WUS LE Laco, the lower one (3/50?? Need to check) om my twoo.

A thought:
If by any chance we decide to do a "replica" of the watch with W-SS on, or any other German symbol which today is not PC, will Laco be OK with it?
I think they have laws in Germany against doing those symbols.
I personally don't want those symbols either.
I would like to get a military look like the old Hamiltons or CWC. in a 42mm case. Or maybe even the 36 to be more authentic
best regards,
Marco
Just to clarity my stand, I do not mind any historical symbols...,
as long as we do not put Laco in a bad situation.
Imagine a war movie with all symbols removed!
