    HE Valve Placement

I always review fakebusters and enjoy the information provided. I have noticed the constant reference to the placement of the HE valve. Why is it that counterfeiters cannot place the valve in the correct position if they can fake a whole watch? I know it is not the only "tell", but it seems that the placement would be a rather simple fix for them.

    Just wondering.

Because they buy the real watches to copy and make the fake ones. Then they'll leave 1 little mistake so they dont mix them up... they dont want to be sending out a real watch for a tenth of the price.

Fake ones with correct HE valve placement are allready on the market...
They just need some time.....the happy feet error was also solved after some while.

    The OP's question is.

Why discuss this here? On a genuine watch forum? lol

Yes. To report fakes. Not discuss how to make fakes better. Right?

    What silly stuff.......

I think that knowing what the fakes are capable of, and and their limitations can be very useful information when buying used watches. I have also been curious about why they leave out little details that seem easy to directly copy. It's not like the people who make fakes are going to read this forum and suddenly realize that the He valve is in the wrong place, I'm sure they are aware.

They have mistakes - but they still sell and make money.
Most of their buyers probably wouldn't know and aren't that picky anyway.
Close enough is good enough for the majority of the market.
That's all that matters to the makers.
No point making them absolutely perfect if they sell anyway.
